working together for a common future
Four Topic Groups have been set up to work on aspects of The Plan relating to specific content. The principal role of these groups is to help identify what the main issues are and to consider possible approaches to deal with them.
The Groups will also consult with local residents, businesses and other stakeholders in the community as a whole, for their views and to draft appropriate sections of The Plan.

The four Topic Groups are:

    • Housing & the Built Environment;
      To cover housing requirements in the town as well open spaces and protection of existing buildings and open space. learn more

      How will the Topic Groups work?

      Each Topic Group will have two co-leaders and a number of local people as members. Topic Group leaders will also attend the Steering Group Meetings to ensure a constant flow of information both ways.

You can be involved in Topic Groups as much or as little as you wish.

The advantage of the website is that each Topic Group will be able to communicate purely between themselves, so the need for meetings will be minimal.  You will have an opportunity to carry out research in respect of the issues that interest you. This will then provide the evidence needed to formulate The Plan.
